Does it work without internet?
Yes. Simply Transcribe works entirely on your device - in airplane mode, on a flight, or anywhere you have zero signal.
Is my audio or transcript ever uploaded anywhere?
No. Nothing you record or transcribe ever leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it through the iOS share sheet.
What if my iPhone isn't supported?
The app requires iOS 26 or later and runs on iPhone SE (2nd generation), iPhone 11, and newer. Lower-memory devices transcribe in English; devices with 6GB of RAM or more support all 25 languages.
Can I choose the language manually?
Yes. Choose your default once, then change the language for an individual recording whenever you need to.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Recordings under five minutes are free. One in-app purchase unlocks recordings of any length.
Which languages are supported?
English, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, and Ukrainian. All 25 require a device with 6GB of RAM or more.
Do you collect any data?
Your recordings and transcripts are never collected. The app can send a small, fixed set of content-free usage and diagnostic events only after you consent. This website separately uses optional GA4 and Microsoft Clarity analytics only if you select Accept.
Can I delete everything I've recorded?
Yes. Settings includes an Erase All Recordings and Transcripts action. Bundled language models remain installed so the app stays ready.
